Meta-Analysis Resources

Tools for Those Who Summarize the Evidence Base

Resources and networking for those who conduct or interpret meta-analyses related to any phenomenon that is gauged in multiple studies.

When running meta-regression on continuous moderator variables, some of the variable run nicely, while others end with the error message: "Cannot run meta-regression when 'Use the mean' is selected for comparisons, outcomes, or time points." Has anyone come across this error? Any thoughts on why it would pop up for some variables and not others?

Thanks,
Dave

Dave, have you found any solutions? I am not a CMA user, so not much help here.

But if you are willing to use any of the common commercial software options (SAS, SPSS, Stata) or freeware (R), then there are lots of ways to analyze your data. I have not seen those kinds of errors when using Wilson's macros under Stata or SPSS or Harbord's when using the metareg macro in Stata.

Hope that is some help! -Blair
