Approaches for estimating or dealing with missing pre-post correlations

I am wondering if anyone can point me to literature regarding approaches for estimating pre-post correlations for pre-post studies in which this statistic is not reported. It is my understanding that…Continue

"Hi Linda, I used previously published estimates of the pre-post correlations from studies with other populations. I also conducted sensitivity analyses in which I substituted a wide range of alternate pre-post correlations. Hope this…"

Approaches for estimating or dealing with missing pre-post correlations

I am wondering if anyone can point me to literature regarding approaches for estimating pre-post correlations for pre-post studies in which this statistic is not reported. It is my understanding that effect size pre-post correlations may have a considerable influence on effect size calculation for pre-post studies, and I would like to make sure that my estimates of these correlations are convincing. Might any of the following data, which are available to me, be useful for estimating pre-post…See More

"Mixing designs in a single meta-analysis is a controversial topic. I suppose at least you could start with them in the same analysis, and at least it can tell you how parallel the results are across these design types, yes, using study design as a…"

Including observational studies with different designs in a single meta-analysis

Hello: I have several questions regarding pros, cons, and/or special considerations related to including different study designs in a single meta-analysis. Any literature and/or guidance related to these questions will be much appreciated.Specifically, I am curious about a scenario in which one is interested in elucidating the consistency and strength of an association between exposure X and outcome Y.(1) Does it make sense to include both cross-sectional, retrospective, and prospective study…See More
